Mickey L. Headrick

Mr. Mickey L. Headrick, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025. He was born on January 24, 1940 in Trion, Georgia to the late John Lewis and Elinor Frances Braddy Headrick. Mickey was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon. He loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing the gospel. Mickey was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in active duty during the Vietnam War for 8 years. Following his time in the Army, he would later join the National Guard. He also worked with the U.S. Postal service as a mail carrier, where he would later retire. Mickey loved listening to southern gospel music. His love of southern gospel music would later inspire him to join a quartet group; where he would be affectionately known as the “singing mailman”. In his free time, he loved to play golf with his son, Dave. Mickey was not only a fighter in his final years, but was a true hero.      

Surviving are his beloved son, David “Dave” Headrick; and several siblings.

Mickey is predeceased by his sweet heart of 54 years, Brenda K. Headrick; and several siblings.

The funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. – Monday, September 15, 2025 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Pitts and Rev. Steven Little officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Terry, Jeff Clamp, Patrick Earp, Neil Nadkarni, Michael Johnikin, Joe Bates, Russell Terry, and Reggie Ricard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 3708 Pond Branch Road, Leesville, SC 29070.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
