Services for Michael “Mickey” E. Storey, 74, will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Strand and the Rev. Bill Ebener officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. Mr. Storey went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born in Ward, SC, on January 10, 1951, the youngest of six children to the late Cora Rodgers Storey and Weldon Storey. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, worked at Burlington as a loom fixer for 15 years and then for another 24 years at Michelin, where he was fondly known as “Peanut.” Mickey will be remembered for his huge heart, never meeting a stranger, always making people smile with his fun loving spirit, and his willingness to help anyone at any time. He always lived his life to the fullest; he loved fishing, boating, shooting pool, golfing, spending time with his grandchildren, camping, and trips to Myrtle Beach or Greenwood State Park.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda Shealy Storey, daughter, Tracy Storey Burns (Jason); daughter-in-law, Dawn Storey; brothers, W.S. Storey and Ted Storey; grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, and Amanda Storey, Mia and Bree Burns. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin Storey, and sisters, Willie Mae Rhoden, Nola Lee Perry, and Lucy Miller.
