Michael “Mike” David Drenten, 67, of Gilbert, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026. Born on May 16, 1959, in Phoenix, Arizona, Mike was the son of the late Richard and Marilyn Drenten. He worked in maintenance at JB Martin and was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and willingness to help others. Outside of work, Mike enjoyed videography and racquetball, passions that brought him great joy throughout his life.
Above all else, Mike was devoted to his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Dale Connelly Drenten, who preceded him in death. Their love was the foundation of their family, and Mike remained devoted to her always. Although Chris Hughes was his stepson by title, Mike loved him as his own son, and Chris lovingly considered Mike to be his dad. The bond they shared was one of love, guidance, respect, and family.
Mike is survived by his step-son, Chris Hughes (Megan); his sisters, Shavone Flagg (Alan), Linda Daniels (Dave), and Colleen Riley (Mitch), his brother, Patrick Riley(Sandy); his grandchildren, Brianna (Pat), Chance, Arden, and Sage; and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Sutton, Scout, Sully-Cate, and Foster. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dale Connelly Drenten.
Mike’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Drenten family with arrangements.
