Mrs. Melba Spires Williams, daughter of the late Reedy Spires and Lessie Williams Spires, was called home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2021.
She worked with Sarah Coventry Jewelry many years as sales manager and more recently she was an independent distributor for Premier High Fashion Jewelry.
Melba leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, E. N. “Red” Williams; son, Keith (Debbie) Spires; daughter, Linda (Harry) Bozard; granddaughters, Jolynne (Chris) Phillips, Amber (John) Hendrix, Sabrina (Luke) Fallaw; grandsons, Benjamin (Susan) Spires, Brad Bozard; great-granddaughters, Adalynne Fallaw, Avery Fallaw, Ellaree Rose Hendrix, Brianna (Jake) Cannon; great-grandsons, Walker (Megan) Spires, Christopher Phillips Jr., Garrett Phillips, and Crosson Hendrix, great-great-granddaughter, Addy Cannon, and a great-great-grandson, Bentlee Spires. Also, she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, as well as a special nephew, Eddie Spires of St. Matthews, SC., cousins and many friends.
Melba was preceded in death by a sister, Reedy Mae Spires, and her brothers, Oneal (Toby) Spires and R. C. Spires, and stepdaughter, Miriam Manas.
Extended family consists of, Scott (Debbie) Williams, Wanda (E.L.) Jeffcoat, Farrell (Becky) Williams, Margaret Bryant (Tony Smith), Philip (Joyce) Williams, Art Manas, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Melba’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Gaston, SC, with Rev. Brady Henderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lexington Heart and Pulmonary or First Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 309, Gaston, SC 29053.
