Melanie Renee Hollis Obituary

Melanie Renee Hollis, a courageous and inspiring woman, passed away on the 1st of July, 2025, at 62 years of age. Born and raised in Lexington, SC.

Melanie is survived by her parents, John and Brenda Hollis; and her siblings Darren (Mis) Hollis of Arkansas and Melissa (Bret) Mercer of Lexington, SC; and, a cherished aunt to Lauren Hollis, Morgan (Jonah) Lilly, Tori (Zach) Kloville, Jared Horn and Preston Hollis; and a great aunt to Andrew Lilly; many aunts, uncles,cousins who were like aunts and uncles, as well as many beloved  cousins. A resilient spirit, Melanie lived life to the fullest and found joy in every moment.

Melanie’s journey was defined by her remarkable resilience and passion for helping others. She graduated from Lexington High School Class of 1981 and went on to the University of South Carolina where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Administration, a testament to her thirst for knowledge and dedication to personal growth. For more than three decades, Melanie served as an accountant for Senior Resources. Through her diligent work, she made a lasting impact on countless lives. Her work ethic was unrivaled, her commitment to her clients unwavering, and her heart always in service to others.

In a world where so many strive for recognition, Melanie was a quiet hero. She had a knack for lighting up a room with her warm smile and giving nature. She brought comfort and laughter to those around her, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched. Services are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Homes and Crematorium (Lexington). A funeral service will be held on July 5 at 3 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington, South Carolina. The family will receive friends one hour before service. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
