It is with profound sadness that we announce that Maxine Hammond Nunamaker passed away at her home on Saturday, April 3, 2021. She was 81 years old. She was born in West Columbia, South Carolina, and was one of three children of the late Mr. & Mrs. F.O. (Nick & Dumah) Hammond. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Nunamaker; brother, Ronnie Hammond; and her sister, Judy Laney. Maxine is survived by her three children, Jeff (Tina) Nunamaker of Middleberg, Florida, Robynn (Jeff) McDowell of Loganville, Georgia and Amy (Todd) Miller of Hoschton, Georgia; a total of nine grandchildren, Cody, Katie, Ashlynn, Savannah, Braiden, Destiny, Pierce, Nicholas, Hannah; and 6 great grandchildren.
Maxine and Bob eventually became longtime residents of the Loganville/Snellville area and members of First Baptist Church Snellville. Maxine attended Brooklyn Cayce High school and the joy of her life was being a stay at home mother. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, playing with her card group, tennis, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers.
A graveside service will be conducted 1pm Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church Cemetery. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
