Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lewis Cook, 90, will be conducted Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Wittenberg Lutheran Church, with Rev. Keith Getz officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Scot Powell, Brant McCormick, Kalan Cook, Kaleb Cook, JJ Yoho, and Logan Bouknight. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Bouknight, Conner Ricard, and Wilson Oxner. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Mary passed away at home peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026. She was born on October 3, 1935 in Pine Town, North Carolina, to the late Reginald R. and Sarah E. Sawyer Lewis. Mary was a member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church. She was a former day care worker and loved all of her babies.
Surviving are her son, R. Alan Cook, daughter; Donna Cook, brother; David Shaw (Cindy), sister; Betty Webster; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Carl A. Cook, daughter, Diane C. Powell, brother, James Lewis, and son-in-law, Johnnie Powell.
