Another Angel has gotten her wings and is now in the bosom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Mary Ellen Taylor Geiger on October 2, 2025. Better known by her nick name of Mickey, she was a wonderful and loving wife of 67 years to her husband, John F. Geiger. Mickey was also a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother as well as a life long member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.
Mickey never worked outside the home after marrying the love of her life. She devoted her life to John and her family. She guarded her family with fierce devotion but always with a smile.
Mickey is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Carol Geiger Busbee (Bruce); grandsons, Michael Christopher Busbee (Shawna) and Dr. Jonathon Scott Busbee (Victoria); and great-grandchildren Lucas, Ashlynn, Caroline and Carson, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by siblings, Charles Marion Taylor, Sarah Taylor Collins, and Betty Taylor Senn. Predeceased by siblings, Nancy Taylor Lee, and Larry Ray Taylor.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary Hardee, Gary Geiger, Gregory Geiger, MIchael Busbee, Scott Busbee and Lucas Busbee.
Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Avenue, West Columbia, SC, with visitation beginning at 10 am and the funeral service at 11 am.
Interment will be held immediately after the service in Mt. Tabor's cemetery on Delree Street, West Columbia, with Rev. Wade Roof III and Rev. Rus Stilwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
