Mary Foster Brooker

Mary Foster Brooker, age 97, of Birmingham, AL entered into her eternal rest on May 2, 2021. Mrs. Brooker was born in Luverne, AL to Hubert and Nell Foster. Her life journey took her to Birmingham, Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC and back to Birmingham. Mary was a follower of Jesus Christ and the fruits of the Spirit, particularly gentleness, joy and kindness, were evident throughout her life. She made little of herself and always looked first to the needs of others. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and homemaker. She was also a talented pianist. Mrs. Brooker was a faithful member of Taylors First Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons William T. Brooker IV and John Alan Brooker, daughters-in-laws, Deborah Brooker and Ashley Brooker, three grandchildren, Seth Williams, Christin Slimp, Curtis Brooker, wife Courtney Brooker and six great grandchildren, Tristan Slimp, Kate Brooker, Daniel Brooker, Emily Brooker, Sarah Williams and Seth Williams.

She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 56 years, William T. Brooker III, daughter Sarah Brooker (Williams) and her two brothers, Paul Foster and Hubert Foster.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia, SC at 11:00 am. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington, SC is assisting the family.
