Lexington - Mary Williams Blackwood, 89, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020. Born in Columbia, SC on August 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Ross Octavious and Annie Pierce Williams.
Mary was a loving and caring mother of 3 children; Sherry LeTempt, Anne (Earl) Hope, Wayne (Susan) Blackwood; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Roland; daughter, Brenda; sisters, Louise Hayes, Sara Gliddon, and Macy Amato; brothers, Jack Williams and Ross Williams.
Mary was a dedicated employee at Bellsouth for 39 years and a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.
In light of the current COVID19 virus, a private graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on April 2, 2020, at Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia, SC.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Oakleaf Assisted Living and All Seasons Hospice, Lexington, SC.
