Martha Elizabeth Guillebeau passed away, at the age of 100, peacefully on June 20, 2025 at LifeCare Center at Wells Crossing, Orange Park, Florida. She had been a resident there for three years.
She was born in Batesburg, South Carolina on November 25, 1924. She was the oldest daughter of Refo B. And Bertha Craps. Graduated from B-L High School and attended Lander College in Greenwood, South Carolina. During WW2 she was employed by the Department of the Navy in Charleston, South Carolina in the Personnel Department. It was there that she met her future husband, Charles Guillebeau, who was temporarily assigned to that department. They married in 1945.
During her lifetime she worked at the Navy Exchange, NAS Cecil Field. Afterwards she was a secretary/bookkeeper for Cushman-Wakefield, commercial real estate company. On retirement, Martha was a volunteer in the Breast Cancer Clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital. She also served for several years, as the treasurer for the Fleet Reserve Post 126 on Blanding Blvd. She faithfully attended Faith Lutheran church for over fifty years.
She is predeceased by her faithful husband of fifty years, Charles Guillebeau. She is survived by sons, Ray Guillebeau(Diane) and Geary Michael Guillebeau(Barbara) as well as Grandson Joseph Charles Guillebeau.
There will be a Memorial service at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial on Normandy Blvd., Florida at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 with reception to follow.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Ridge Crest Memorial Park, 329 Summerland Ave, Batesburg SC 29006 with the Rev. Lisa Isenhour officiating.
