Marjorie "Margie" Asbill

Memorial services for Marjorie “Margie” McCartha Asbill, 80, will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2025 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Derrick officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew’ s Lutheran Church, 1273 Calks Ferry Rd., Lexington SC 29072.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Asbill passed away Monday, September 29, 2025.  Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late Wingard and Alice Celeste Miller McCartha. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and retired from Lexington County School District #1, Gilbert High School Cafeteria.

Surviving are her husband, Sherill W. Asbill, son, Steve W. Asbill, daughter, Lisa A. McMullen, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry McCartha and a sister, Mary Sharpe.
