It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of a loved and cherished family member.
Margie Hayden Cook, 70, of Pelion, passed away unexpectedly due to an automobile accident on April 1, 2025, in Lexington, South Carolina.
Margie was born and raised in Swansea by her parents, Eroy Hayden and Dorcas Rachael Busbee Hayden who preceded her in death. Margie was a very proud Taurus who loved her parents dearly.
She is survived by her husband of over 20 years, Theodore "Ted" Cook of Pelion. She also leaves behind her three children who she loved more than life itself, Allen Fallaw of Gilbert, Leslie Smith (Johnny) of Lexington, and Crystal (Eric) Powell of Lexington. She was the glue that held her family together. Her children couldn't have loved her more. She was always there for them.
Margie was raised with five siblings. She was predeceased by her brother Eddie Hayden and her sister, Mary Jo Hayden. She leaves behind a brother, Richard Hayden of Swansea and Rose Morris of Gilbert.
Margie had six grandchildren: Danny, Kayla, Brian, Johnathan, Haley and Logan; and six great-grandchildren: Lilli, Ava, Osiris, Annaleigh, Brennan and Tinsleigh. Being able to share in these children's lives was her greatest joy. She wanted them to always know how much she loved them even if they don't remember her.
Margie enjoyed taking trips with her loved ones. She never met a stranger. She talked to everyone because she had the gift of gab. She was straight-forward and honest. Everyone she met loved her.
Margie always said that she wouldn't live forever, so she lived her life to the fullest and lived her life with vigor. She never left anywhere without saying, "I love you" and "Later." She was one of a kind and irreplaceable.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to any domestic abuse shelters or any shelters for at-risk or abused children.
The family appreciates all of the love, support, and prayers. We send love to anyone who feels this loss as deeply as we do. We love you mom, wife, sibling, and grandparent. We will miss you always.
"May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be at your back, may the sun shine warm your face. May the rain fall softly on your fields, and until we meet again. May God hold your face in the palm of his hand."
The dates of birth and death don't matter. It's how you lived the dash. Love like there is no tomorrow and do everything as its your last day alive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
