Margie Nell Kolb Eleazer, 92, passed on to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Margie was born September 12, 1927 in Columbia, SC to the late Hazel LaFoy Kolb and Genie Naomi Kolb. She is preceded in death by her three siblings, H.L. Kolb, Louvenia Frye and Joyce Ann Martin, all of West Columbia.
Margie graduated from Lexington High School and later went to work at the Dixie Dry Cleaners in Columbia. It was there she met her husband of 64 years, Joseph Earl Eleazer. They married on July 5, 1947 and resided in West Columbia where Margie spent her time keeping the family home, raising their daughter and being involved in church activities. She especially loved playing the piano, singing and working with the GA’s and teaching Vacation Bible School in her early years. At the time of her passing she was a member of Saluda River Baptist Church and the “We Care” Sunday School Class.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Margie Lambries (Chris) of Gilbert, SC; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Dymond (Adam), Kristen Shealy (Trey), Matt Lambries (Ashlynn) and Katie Miler (Will). She was also blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren, Giles, Silas, Levi, Karson, Aiden, Liam, Graham and Quinn. She will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Joe Eleazer who preceded her in death in 2011. We celebrate their reunion in heaven and rejoice in the knowledge that we will all be together again one day.
The family would like to thank the staff of Crews Point, Lexington Extended Care for the care and kindness they gave to Margie over the past 16 years. She spoke fondly of many of you and I know you made her days just a little brighter. We would also like to thank the nursing staff of 8th Floor at Lexington Medical Center for the tenderness and diligent care you gave to her during her final days. What you do makes a difference!
