Margaret Dayle Workman Obituary

Margaret Dayle Stanton Workman passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 5th, 2018.  Dayle was born in Bennettsville, SC on August 19, 1950 to the late Edgar Stanton, Jr. and the late Margaret McGlammery Stanton.  She attended Marlboro County Schools and was active in church and community activities.  Dayle was a Girl Scout and earned the Curved Bar, which was the highest award.  She later attended Vardell Hall Preparatory School in Red Springs, NC.  She continued her education at the University of South Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She married Joseph Barnett Workman, III on February 28, 1976.  They were blessed with Joseph “Josh” Barnett Workman, IV (Miriam) and Lauren Martha Workman (Brian Havens).  Dayle worked as a home health nurse for many years and completed her career at Lexington County Health Department where she retired in January, 2013.  Dayle was an active member of Beulah United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, worked with the children’s ministry, and served on various committees. Dayle will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a kind, graceful, and generous woman.  In addition to her husband, son, and daughter, she is survived by granddaughters Isabella Luz Workman, Juliet Anastacia Workman, and Eve Elizabeth Havens and brother, William McGlammery Stanton (Christie) of Loganville, GA.  Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Beulah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Rowell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beulah United Methodist Church building fund, 161 Beulah Church Rd., Gilbert, SC 29054.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
