Margaret Bausch, a beacon of strength and love, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026 with her family by her side. Born on December 6th, 1936 in Darmstadt, Germany, Margaret embodied a spirit of grace, resilience, generosity, kindness and warmth. Margaret was a woman who touched many hearts and cultivated beauty in all facets of her life.
Margaret was a child during WWII in Germany, and later immigrated to New York City in the late 1950s. Her journey was marked by courage and determination. There she met her husband, Dieter, at a German club in NYC. They married in 1962, followed by the birth of their daughter and son. As a homemaker, she created a sanctuary of love and security for her family, pouring her heart into running the household. Margaret's home was not just a house, but a place where friends and family were always welcome, where laughter filled the air, and where every guest was treated like family. Her devotion to her loved ones was mirrored in her care for her home and family.
Margaret loved animal of all types, especially dogs, and enjoyed many activities such as tennis, bicycling, swimming, walking, water aerobics, spending time on the beach in Hilton Head, traveling extensively throughout the world, reading, playing games, and spending time with her beloved grandsons.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Bausch; son, Michael Bausch (Anne-Marie); and grandsons, Elliot and Nolan Bausch, who will always cherish their memories of a mother and grandmother whose love was boundless and whose strength was inspiring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dieter Bausch; her brother, Walter; and her parents, Ludwig and Anna, who instilled in her the values of hard work, love, and resilience that she carried throughout her life.
A private Celebration of Life will be conducted sometime in the future. Those who knew and loved Margaret are encouraged to share their memories, keeping her spirit alive in our hearts and minds. As we remember Margaret, let us do so with the same warmth and love she bestowed upon us all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pawmetto Lifeline or the American Cancer Society. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
