Lexington – Graveside services for Marcus Benton Steele, 83, will be conducted at 3pm Sunday, December 12, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Rawl officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6pm Satuday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church , 1130 St. Peters Chuch Rd..
Mr. Steele passed away Thursday December 9, 2010. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late John and Essie Harmon Steele and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was a retired mechanic at Fort Jackson and was an Army Veteran of WW II.
Surviving are daughters, Tracy Rodgers of Lexington, Patra Petrea of Florida, Marsha Steele of Charleston, Tonya Parker of Columbia , sons, Phil Rodgers of Pelion and Ronnie Amick of Lexington, 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Carolyn J. Steele, daughter, Brenda Tedder and 2 brothers.
