Lydia Cress

Ms. Lydia Cress, 47, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1978 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Francis Earl Cress, Jr. and Barbara Jane Dennis Cress.

Surviving are sister, Leanne Stoewhaas (Clint); “little sister”, Amanda Huneycutt; life-long friends, Felicia Loftis and Rebecca Cureton; uncle, Clint Dennis; cousin, Richard “Bubba” Dennis and family; nieces and nephews, Brooke Cress, Kody Stoewhaas, Keira Stoewhaas, Shannon Dennis, Jonathan Dennis, Jaycee Spradley, Chris Crooks, Kaitlyn Loftis, Emersyn Oxendine, Easton Oxendine, and Gabby Galloway; and her 4 legged baby, Lily. Lydia was predeceased by her parents; aunt, Pat Dennis; and a cousin, Laura Stegenga.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 at the home of her sister, Leanne Stoewhaas; 643 Elbert Taylor Road, Gilbert SC 29054. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Cress family with arrangements.
