Lois Eileen Collier Luesing finished her earthly battle with cancer at 7:33pm on June 16, 2025, while surrounded and held by her loved ones. She was born on September 7, 1956, in Columbia, SC to Alfred David Collier, Sr. and Ruth Anne McBerry Collier.
She is survived by her two sons, Luke Leslie Luesing, Jr. and Landon Colin Luesing (Crystal); her sister and lifelong, loving confidant, Julie Anne Collier McKelvey; four brothers, Alfred David Collier, Jr. (Carol), Thomas "TC" George Collier, Manny Ashton Collier (Susan), and Barry Keith Collier; her very close nephew, Jason Collier Mack (Missy) and their two lovely girls, Alexandria and Ava; her niece, Allison Collier and daughter, Kate; her nephew, Jeremy Collier; and numerous other extended family members, close friends, and decades-long neighbors - all of whom she loved tremendously.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Anne; many aunts and uncles; her dearly missed brother-in-law, Roger Dean McKelvey; and a number of close friends and colleagues.
Lois spent the majority of her adult life working in the mobile and manufactured housing industry, where she built many relationships over the years. After, she forged a path for her own business, continuing to write insurance and performing home appraisals. In addition to her profession, she was a single mother who worked very hard at raising her two boys to be respectful, kind men. Lois never believed that her children were too old to end the obligation she felt to them, and continued to be there for them into her last days.
Lois was a great beauty, known for being "forever 29", whose smile and presence could command any room. She was also a lover of nature and animals. Throughout her life, she rescued many and nurtured them back to health, having a special affinity for stray cats. Her favorite place was a tropical beach, with white sand and blue water. Though she sometimes struggled with the darkness in the world, she had an eye for its natural beauty as well; being an avid photographer, always on the lookout for something special to her eye. God has never, and likely will never, make another soul like Lois's. She will be painfully missed and lovingly remembered. May she have found her eternal peace.
Lois's wishes were to be cremated, without too much formality. The family will announce a celebration of her life at a later date. In memory, please donate to local no-kill shelters and animal protection organizations, such as: PETSinc, Pawmetto Lifeline, APLSC, etc.
