Laura Elizabeth Wankowski (Nov 19, 1947- August 4, 2025)

Laura Wankowski, beloved wife of John Wankowski, mother of John Stanley II (Leah), Andrew James (Ann) and Rodger Louis (Kelsey); beloved grandmother (9) of Joshua, Zachary, Kyle, Breeana, Sondra, Joycelyn, Aeris, Amanda and Ashton; beloved great-grandmother (5) to Riley, Adin, Ronin, Kaylie and Sofie.

Laura was a native of Baltimore, Maryland. As a Navy wife of 58 years, she gallantly served her family and country. Laura served as a teaching assistant, as a volunteer counselor for Navy and Marine Corps Relief, and as a ship's Ombudsman helping other Navy wives, officers and enlisted, deal with the rigors of being a Navy wife. She was active in the Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Group, the Corpus Christi Catholic Women (CCCW), Catholics Getting Active (CGA) and served as an Usher for the Saturday 5 PM mass. As Mrs. Santa Claus, she assisted her husband, Santa during the annual breakfast with Santa event sponsored by Knights of Columbus.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm. The Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
