Obituary
Funeral service for Larry Donald Koon, 80, will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, November 28, 2022 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Lutheran Church, 4077 US-378, Leesville SC 29070.
Mr. Koon passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Born in Leesville, he was a son of the late Arthur Glenn and Ola Pearl Adams Koon. He was a retired Sergeant Major in the Army National Guard with 36 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Fry Koon; step-children, Patrick Forrester (Dana), and Jennifer Forrester Freeman (Jeff); 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Rufus and Pat Koon; sisters, Utricia Shealy, Mary Morgan Shirley, Sara Caughman, Naomi Smith, Gladys Kaminer, and Delores Graham.
