Larry J. Linemann, Sr., 78, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on April 25, 2026.
Mr. Linemann served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he held the position of Chief Fuel Officer aboard the USS Lexington. During his service, he was awarded a patent for a valve interlocking system designed for the safe refueling of aircraft, reflecting his technical skill and ingenuity.
Following his military service, Mr. Linemann pursued a career in mechanical engineering, specializing in the design of pressure vessels used in heating and fluid filtration systems. Later in life, he devoted himself to his passion for skilled craftsmanship, establishing a successful business refurbishing kitchens and bathrooms. His work was marked by precision, reliability, and pride in workmanship.
In his youth, Mr. Linemann was a city chess champion at the age of 14, an early indication of the discipline and intellect he carried throughout his life. He remained an avid player of both chess and poker, enjoyed fishing, and found great satisfaction in working with his hands.
Mr. Linemann was known as a stoic man of few words, yet one whose actions spoke with clarity. He was a devoted protector and provider to his family. Above all, he shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Jackie. The two were married for nearly 40 years, a union defined by loyalty, commitment, and unwavering devotion. She was, in every sense, his one true love.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Jackie; his daughter, Christine; and his stepson, Andy.
He was preceded in death by his children, Larry Jr. and Diana, as well as his grand-dog, Sultan.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on April 30, 2026, at the Chapel of Hope at Southland Memorial Gardens, conducted by Pastor Tim Hodge. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
