Kenneth "Sam" McQuatters Obituary

Kenneth Samuel "Sam" McQuatters, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 19th in West Columbia, SC. He was born on October 21, 1951 to the late Kenneth R. and Betty J. McQuatters.

One of Sam’s greatest gifts was his extraordinary sense of humor. His quick wit, infectious laugh, and unforgettable stories brought joy to family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers. It was impossible to spend time with him without leaving with a smile.

Sam was also a gifted artist whose creativity found expression through photography, drawing, writing, filmmaking, and movie trailer production. During his career with Turner Broadcasting, he brought imagination, humor, and heart to every project he touched. His work reflected not only his artistic talent, but also the unique way he viewed the world.

Whether through a perfectly timed joke or one of his many creative pursuits, Sam had a remarkable ability to connect with others and leave a lasting impression. His warmth, charm, and laughter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Sam is survived by his beloved daughter, Erin, and son-in-law Brandon; his sister, Brenda “Sally” Oswald; his brothers, Skip and Stan; his nephew, Will; and his cherished granddogs, Coco and Ellie.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
