Kenneth Lee McAbee Obituary
Gilbert – Kenneth Lee McAbee, 85, passed away July 5, 2021. Born in Wellford, SC, he was the son of the late Turner G. and Myrtle Thompson McAbee.
Mr. Ken was a long time employee of the United States Post Office, retiring after 38 years. He served as Postmaster for Gilbert for 20 of his years with the Postal Service. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserve for 8 years. Mr. Ken was a music enthusiast. He loved singing in the church choir, and he enjoyed playing his ukulele. He was a wonderful baker. Most importantly, he loved his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Emilee McAbee (Jasmine Grant); son, Joe McAbee (Susan); and grandchild, Bailee McAbee. He had 2 brothers, Jim McAbee and Doug McAbee; and a sister, Jane Mason.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Gilbert United Methodist Church, 510 Main St, Gilbert, SC.
