Kelsi Witz Obituary

Kelsi Willow Witz, age 34, passed away suddenly in her home in Lexington, South Carolina on March 31, 2025. She was born on June 26, 1990, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Randall Witz and Teresa Signorile.

Kelsi had a deep love for nature and found beauty in the simplest moments—watching birds, tending to her garden, and sketching flowers and plants. She especially loved curling up on the couch, completely engrossed in a book, losing herself in the pages of a romance novel. Even though she hated when squirrels stole seeds from her bird feeders, she still cared for them—setting out a little extra just for them in an empty flower pot on the back porch. She also had a special bond with her cat Garfunkel whom she would spend time with in the backyard and on the couch. He truly loved talking to her and watching her work.

She also had a deep love for music. Whether she was blasting her favorite songs while driving, singing along to lyrics she knew (and even the ones she didn’t), signing karaoke in the privacy of her home, or listening to her fiancé, Tom, play guitar, music brought her pure joy. In the past few years she found a love for fishing. She was so proud of the fish she caught, especially the largest one, being a catfish she almost kissed. Her sense of humor was infectious, and she had a rare ability to make people smile, even in difficult times. She never took life too seriously and carried a warmth that made everyone feel seen and cared for, whether they were lifelong friends or strangers she had just met.
Kelsi was also exceptionally intelligent and driven. Without a formal undergraduate degree, she carved out a successful career in both the technology and insurance industries—fields that are often difficult to break into and still heavily male-dominated. Her determination, sharp mind, and relentless work ethic earned her respect from colleagues and leaders alike. She showed what’s possible with grit, talent, and resilience.

Above all, Kelsi was a devoted mother to her son, Kayden, whom she loved with all her heart. He was her everything. They shared a special bond—spending time playing board games, leggos, video games, exploring the outdoors, and being wonderfully goofy together. They made each other laugh constantly, and the joy they shared was unmistakable.

Kelsi is survived by her son, Kayden Witz; her parents, Randall Witz and Teresa Signorile; her siblings, Amber Witz (Nicholas Collicott), Jared Witz (Mandy Mulholland), and Bree Collins; and her fiancé, Tom Buff; her niece and nephews, Aubree Witz, Jayden Witz, Grayson Isley; her Cat, Garfunkel (Garf); her Grandpa; Roger Witz.

She was proceeded in death by her Grandpa and Grandma’s; Francisco Signorile, Janet Signorile and Nellie Witz, Sue Muetz, Michelle Lewis, Andrea Adams, Michael Witz, Trevor Hron.

She will also be deeply missed by a loving circle of extended family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness.

Kelsi’s laughter, brilliance, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at the VFW Post 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison, WI 53716 from 2pm - 6pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
