Keevin Troy Chavis, son of Myrtis Martin Lloyd and the late Bobby Troy Chavis, entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of December 25, 2025, in Lexington, SC, with his sons at his side. Mr. Chavis was born in Lexington on December 7, 1957.
He worked in the environmental field with sensor technologies and GPS and was a trainer for Trimble, Inc. and later owned a FleetBoss commercial-use GPS franchise. He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished hunter, fishman, and boat captain. Keevin was most comfortable in the kitchen and loved cooking, hosting many gourmet dinner parties for friends and family over the years. His recipes have been published in Southern Living Magazine, Southern Living Annual Recipes, Bon Appetit, and other local/regional cookbooks; including those of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Marine Resources Division, St. James Epsicopal Church, and Grace Episcopal Church. Keevin is survived by his mother, Myrtis Martin Lloyd of Lexington, SC; his brother, Kendall Blease Chavis of Lexington, SC; and his three sons, Neal Martin Chavis of Asheville, NC; Kristian Troy Chavis (Paulina Valsecchi) of Durhan, NC; and Elliott Parker Chavis of New Orleans, LA. He loved his sons dearly and was determined that the three of them would have close relationships with each other, which thankfully and blessedly they do to this day.
Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
