Lexington-Karen Laffoday, 56, was totally healed on Thursday, September 9, 2021 by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her passing followed complications due to COVID-19 at Lexington Medical Center.
Ms. Laffoday was employed at Lexington Medical Park Otarre Point Rehab Services, Cayce, and was a member of Willow Ridge Church, West Columbia. She enjoyed bible study, gardening, camping, cooking, her family, and dancing, as she is in heaven now!
Karen is survived by her sons, Jeremy, Patrick, and Ross Laffoday; siblings, Rhonda Woods of Pelion, Jimmy Lucas (Susan) of Gilbert, Brenda Blackstone (Glenn) of Lexington, and Renee Howell (Robert) of Pelion; mother-in-law, Patricia Whittle of Lexington; and sister-in-law, Joan Beardsley (Kenny) of Lexington; nieces and nephews, Cade Woods, Kimberly Wolfe (David), Branden Woods (Brittany), Travis and Phillip Lucas, Victoria Blackstone, Cassie Blackwell (Thomas), Kathleen and Luke Beardsley; great-nephew and nieces, Colby Woods, Lillyanna and Lilah-Grace Wolfe, Autumn and Danni Woods; a maternal aunt, three paternal aunts, one uncle, and several cousins.
Ms. Laffoday was predeceased by her previous husband, Jordan Laffoday; parents, Franklin and Sandra Lucas; nephew, Luke Howell; and brother-in-law, Danny Woods.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Willow Ridge Church, 104 Sycamore Tree Rd., West Columbia with Pastor Beau Bradberry officiating. Burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens 3111 Delree St., West Columbia. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Pall Bearers are Watson Amick, Eddie Benton, Travis and Phillip Lucas, Noah Wingard, and Cade Woods. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karen’s memory to Willow Ridge Church Youth. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses in Lexington Medical Center’s ICU for their compassionate care, dedication, and faith in God, especially Dr. Matthew Day, as well as the numerous family, friends and co-workers for their never ceasing prayers. Luke 23:43 - And He said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
