Karen Eargle Sharpe passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was brave and resilient during a succession of heath battles and events.
Karen graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1975, retired from the University of South Carolina, and was a long term Gamecock football season ticket holder.
She was predeceased by her parents, Eunice Weaver Eargle and F. E. Eargle; and her soulmate, Claude N. Shealy.
Survivors include her beloved dog, Tadpole; daughter, Stacy DeAnn Eddings (Kenneth Scott); granddaughter, Kennedy Elizabeth Eddings; brother, Wayne D. Eargle (Nelle); niece, Allison H. Eargle; nephew, David W. Eargle (Larissa); grandnephews, Lucas, Owen, and Evan; brother, Charles W. Eargle (Carolyn); nephew, Jonathan “Petie” Eargle (Jenna); grandnephews, Hunter and Austin (Courtney); and great grandnephew, Nolan.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Rehoboth Methodist Church of Lake Murray. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rehoboth Methodist Church of Lake Murray 3676 Holley Ferry Road, Leesville, SC 29070 or Final Victory Animal Rescue 919 N. Lucas Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
