Kai Lin Maroney

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Kai Lin Maroney of Leesville on December 27, 2025.  He was born on April 13, 1981, in Columbia, SC, Kai lived a spirited and adventurous life, always staying true to his roots. Known for his big heart of gold, Kai was a beacon of strength and unwavering love for his family. His determination yet hard-headed nature often brought a sense of humor and charm into the lives of those who knew him.

Employed with Shaw Industries, Kai diligently served as a maintenance technician, earning the reputation of being a dedicated and hardworking individual. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his fondness for hunting and fishing. Kai was an avid outdoors man, never missing an opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of nature. His love for adventure was second only to the love he held for his family and friends, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones.

Kai is survived by his father, Dickie Maroney; mother, Glennette Maroney; wife, Brittany Dooley; brother, Dustin Maroney and his wife Amber; and his children, Kayden Maroney, Kailin Maroney, Jamie Kersey (step-daughter), and Adison Maroney. He also leaves behind his sister, Ragena "Gena" Thomas and her husband, Jeremy Thomas; and many friends and extended family members. A funeral service celebrating Kai's life will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel with Eddie Moody officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
