Judith Ann Sweeney Palomino

Judith Ann Sweeney Palomino, 76, of Cayce, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Born in 1949 in Greensboro, North Carolina, Judy was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Ward Sweeney.

Judy dedicated 25 years of service to the State of South Carolina with the Security Commission, retiring in May of 2004. She was admired for her hard work, kindness, and deep devotion to her family and community.

She is survived by her husband, Raul Palomino of Cayce, SC and family; brother, Bobby Joe Thornton and wife, Sherry of Pulaski, TN; niece, Melissa Kay Walker and husband, Howard of Pulaski, TN; grand-nephew, Tyler Joe Thornton and wife, Jordan of Pulaski, TN; grand-niece, Chelsea Murphy Morris of Pulaski, TN; along with countless cousins, extended family and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Judy was predeceased by her sister, Peggy Jean Sweeney Walker and brother, James Thomas “JT” Sweeney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1st, at 3p at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
