Mrs. Juanita Shealy Harmon, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1933, in Saluda County, to the late Chester Edwin and Viola Snelgrove Shealy.
In addition to being a homemaker, she exhibited her love for children through foster care, the Head Start program, and child daycare. Her involvement at Summerland Church included Mission’s Director, Teacher, President of the Women's Auxiliary, and Choir member. She also grew up as a singing member of the distinguished Chester Shealy Family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Everette Harmon; brothers, Lamar, John, Melvin, Lathan, and Graham Shealy; sisters, Myrtice and Vilette Shealy, Leta Grice, Evetta Gleaton, and Lois Crapps.
She leaves behind her son, Dale Harmon; daughter, Beverly Simmons (Randy); brother, Garlyn Shealy (Deloris); sister, Olivia Kirkland; grandchildren, Marty and Jason Longshore (Lori) and Breelyn Harmon; step-grandchildren, Chris and Chip Simmons (Fallon); great-grandchildren, Carly and Claire Longshore.
The family will receive friends and family at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel on Sunday, July, 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bill Sawyer, Saluda EMS, and the Staff at Saluda Nursing Center, and Lexington Medical Center for their excellent care.
