Joyce Day Taylor, 83, born December 9, 1941 to the late James Monroe and Bessie Catherine Hall Day passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was married on October 26, 1958 to the late Everett Wilbur Taylor.
She was a member of Praise Church, Leesville where she sang alto in the church choir. She retired from Phillips Components.
She is survived by her sons, Dwayne Taylor (Nancy) and Kelly Taylor; grandchildren, Cameron Taylor, Haylie Taylor, and Michael Fox (Erica); sisters, Ruth Mayer Melton, Ann Shealy, Nancy Arrington (Aubrey), and Jonelle Boozer; sisters-in-law, Pat West and Arlene Day; many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by an infant son; brothers, Parnell Day (Lena) and James Day; sisters, Helen Jameson (Henly), Lois Rikard (Vic), Elizabeth Long (WD), Jimmie Ricard (Harold), and Shirley Jones (Edward); brothers-in-law, Cecil Mayer, Roderick Shealy, and Max Boozer.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. Pallbearers will be beloved friends and family. Burial will follow at Ridge Crest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to either Praise Church, P. O. Box 3488, Leesville, SC 29070 or to the Dementia Society of America in memory of Joyce Taylor.
