Joyce Anderson Long Surrett

Mrs. Joyce Anderson Long Surrett, 92, of Leesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 after complications of a fall. She was born on August 6, 1933 in Lexington County, South Carolina to the late James “Bill” Perry and Ethel “Effie” Shealy Anderson. Joyce was a graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School where she won Beauty Queen of 1950. She and her late husband, Ted, spent many fun filled years in Florida and traveling throughout the country with their Jazz friends. After his passing, Joyce returned to the Batesburg-Leesville area where she spent her remaining years shopping, gardening, and afternoon wine on her porch with her faithful pet, “Ms. B”.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Billy Long (Barbara), Jeffrey Long, Gregg Long (Jan), and Scott Long (Colleen); sister, Cathy Crim; sister-in-law, Agnes Anderson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ted Surrett; a son, Ricky Long; brother, Danny Anderson; and brother-in-law, Sid Crim. The family would like to give a special thank you to Audrea Spires for her friendship and care for Joyce.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Keith Getz officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Batesburg-Leesville Masonic Lodge #138, 222 West Church Street, Batesburg SC 29006. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Surrett family with arrangements
