Joy Rushe Mann

Joy Rushe Mann, 88, of Prosperity, S.C., passed away on March 29th, 2025. She was born to Marian Williams Rushe and Jesse George Rushe in Graniteville, S.C. in 1936.

Joy graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School, Newberry College, and the School of Law at the University of South Carolina. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and a devoted member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chapin.

She loved solving crossword puzzles, living at the lake, and was a voracious reader. Joy was deeply loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Richard A. Mann, Jr. of Cayce, Joy Fletcher (David) of Cayce and Marian Soard (Jeff) of Irmo; her grandchildren, Anna, Jennifer, Kyra, Morgan, and Patrick; and her great-grandchildren, Adeline and Leonard. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, George Marion Rushe.

A service celebrating her life will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Chapin on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
