We are saddened to announce the passing of Joshua “Josh” Walter Keisler on May 31, 2025. Born on September 10, 1979, in Lexington, South Carolina, to Clyde and Debbie Keisler, Josh’s profound love for his family was rivaled only by his fierce protectiveness. Yet, he was just as well-known for his playful teasing and memorable antics, which never failed to bring a smile, a laugh, or even a good-natured head shake to those around him.
A talented athlete, Josh participated in three varsity sports at Lexington High School, including being a member of the 1996 South Carolina AAAA State Championship Basketball Team. His athletic prowess earned him a full football scholarship to Charleston Southern University, where he spent four years playing and building lasting friendships.
It was while home from college for winter break that Josh met Samantha. Their connection was immediate and they quickly fell in love, building a cherished relationship that spanned 26 years, 23 of them in devoted marriage. To Samantha, Josh was her unwavering rock.
After graduating from Charleston Southern, Josh dedicated the majority of his career to managing an automotive store. Josh was not just a manager, but a mentor and friend to his employees. His unique approach to problem-solving led to a successful career.
Josh was a devoted husband, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife, Samantha Collins Keisler; his parents, Clyde and Debbie; his siblings: Cliff (Danielle), Jessica (Corey), Wyatt (Meredith); his mother-in-law, Nancy Collins; his brother-in-law, Michael; his sister-in-law, Melissa (Hillarie); and his nieces and nephews, Kenzie, Jonah, Riley, Camden, and Emmie.
Josh is predeceased by his father-in-law, Tony Collins, and his beloved English bulldog, Bud.
Josh's presence filled a room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the vibrant life he lived, the joy he shared, and the enduring impact he had on his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Red Bank Baptist Church, 1357 South Lake Dr, Lexington, SC 29073 on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a GoFundMe https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-samantha-after-joshs- campaign established to support Samantha with medical costs and other expenses associated with Josh’s untimely passing. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
