Jolene Mooneyham Haigler Obituary

Jolene Mooneyham Haigler

March 13, 1933 – July 20, 2025

Jolene Mooneyham "grandma" Haigler, 92, of Lexington, SC, went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2025. Born in Camden, SC on March 13, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of Lena and Joseph Mooneyham.

Jolene was the youngest of four sisters, all of whom preceded her in death: Belle Galloway, Lucille Hicks and Francis Shealy - passing on in the order in which they were born. Her quiet strength and deep faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was also predeceased by her infant daughter, Linda Gayle Haigler; her son-in-law, Stanley Lowman; a special cousin, Horace Brown; and fiancé, Glenn Camp.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Debbie Lowman; her grandson, Jody Lowman, both of Lexington, SC; her granddaughter, Renee Coleman (David); her great-grandsons, William and McKinley Coleman, all of Beaufort, SC; niece and nephew, Frank Shealy and Patty Kilpatrick of Chapin, SC; and longtime friend and neighbor, Kaye Harmon of Lexington, SC.

Jolene was a proud graduate of Camden High School and built a long and dedicated career at Bell South retiring after 36 years of service. She was a member of Pioneers of America and cherished the friendships she formed during her working years. She was a lover of fishing and loved to sing at church; especially on jam session nights.

A devoted Christian and faithful prayer warrior, Jolene was a longtime member of Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Lexington, where she served her church family with love and unwavering faith. Her life was marked by grace, humility, and a deep love for God and her family. Her legacy of kindness and quiet devotion will live on in the lives of those she touched.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 10am at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with a funeral service following at 11am. Burial will follow the service at Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery 2024 Haile Street, Camden, SC 29020.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Living Waters Christian Fellowship, PO Box 85492, Lexington, SC 29073, (Please indicate “in memory of Jolene”) or to: Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to Barr-Price Staff for their assistance during this difficult time; and to Lexington Extended Care for their years of caring for Jolene, especially her CNA Gail, and her nurse, Sherrie.
