Johnny V. Miller

Johnny V. Miller, born on March 13, 1944 in Yuma, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his parents, Clell Vincent and Johnnie Lenora Miller, and his older sisters, Pat Byrd and Wanda Miller. Johnny leaves behind his lifetime sweetheart of 61 years, Jeanne Auernheimer Miller; two children, Joanie (and husband William) Brown and John (and wife Lisa) Miller; six grandchildren, Jonathan (and wife Hannah) Brown, Christina (and husband Jonny) Haselden, Michael (and wife Carey) Eshbaugh Brown, Nathaniel Brown, Zachary Brown, and Hannah (and husband Erik) Lewis; and two great grandchildren, Micah and Judah Brown, all of these his greatest treasure.

Johnny graduated from Arizona State University (BA in Education,1965) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., 1970; Th.D., 1980). He served as a sports reporter for the Phoenix Gazette and Arizona Republic, high school English teacher, missionary to Sweden, church planter and pastor (Cypress Bible Church, Cypress, TX; Calvary Church, Lancaster, PA), and professor and president at Columbia International University, Columbia, SC. The joy of his life was seeing lives transformed by the power of the Gospel, through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 in Shortess Chapel on the campus of Columbia International University, Columbia, SC.
