John David Wilson

John David Wilson, 21, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019. Born June 7, 1997 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of John W. Wilson and Deborah Byars Wilson.

A loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, John was a graduate of Pelion High School and Clemson fan. John loved spending time with his family, either by going out to eat, or watching college football games and sharing boiled peanuts. He especially enjoyed spending time with his niece and in his spare time, he would often play his Playstation. John was a corrections officer for SC Department of Corrections.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; sister Emily Wilson; niece Mattilyn; paternal grandmother Jean R. Wilson; maternal grandparents James and Joann Byars; uncles Chris Byars, Marty C. Huestess; cousins Brandi Tardiff, Trevor Huestess, Amber Richards; along with many friends. John was preceded in death by his “Papa”, David Wayne Wilson.

A celebration of John’s life will be held 12 pm, Friday, May 24, 2019, at Dixiana Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
