In Loving Memory of John Seibert
July 10, 1951 – July 18, 2025
John Seibert, 74, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Born on July 10, 1951, in the Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late John and Katherine Seibert. John was known for his intelligence, sense of humor, and unwavering positivity. He had a gift for making people laugh and a heart big enough to make everyone feel seen and loved. John’s generous spirit, fun-loving nature, and magnetic warmth made him someone everyone gravitated toward. He was a pillar of support, constant encourager, and a steady source of wisdom and comfort.
He was a man of many passions. A lifelong sports enthusiast, John proudly played semi-professional football for the Bears in his younger years—an experience he remembered with great fondness. He was also a devoted fan of St. John’s University basketball, cheering for his alma mater with lifelong loyalty. A passionate boater, John found peace and joy on the water—whether navigating the Long Island Sound or enjoying the calm of Lake Murray after moving to South Carolina in 2000.
John had a deep love of traveling with his family, creating treasured memories that ranged from annual Caribbean vacations relaxing to the tunes of Bob Marley, following St. John’s to a basketball tournament in the Bahamas, exploring glaciers in Alaska, immersing in the charm of Europe, to celebrating in Tahiti. He especially loved experiencing the world through the eyes of his grandchildren.
Professionally, John led a successful career in the insurance industry and served as president of an insurance company. He was respected for his leadership and integrity, but his most cherished roles were those of father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Pickens (Jesse) and Stephanie Witthoeft (Travis), and by his beloved grandchildren: Ava and Ellie Pickens, and Sadie and Tucker John Witthoeft.
John now rejoins his beloved wife, Tammy Seibert, in eternal rest—a love story that continues beyond this life, and a reunion surely filled with laughter, love, and peace.
