John Murray

Mr. John Murray, 66, of Leesville, and formerly of New York passed away at his home on Friday, July 10, 2026. He was born on March 22, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John and Anne O’Donnell Murray. John worked in the construction industry as electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union #3. He was an outdoorsman, John loved to garden and spend time on Lake Murray where he found joy in fishing. He loved to spend time with his family and storytelling. In his early years, John was a DJ in the 80's and he loved to dance and play music. John was also of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are his wife, Sheila DiPolo Murray; son, John Murray; daughter, Michele Murray (Andrew “AJ” Nopper, Jr.); sister, Joan Rogers; and grandson, Andrew James Nopper, III.

Funeral mass and wake will be held in New York and will be announced in the coming days. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Murray family with arrangements.
