John Winfield Johnson, born on June 10, 1961, passed away earlier this month, on July 3, 2026. He resided in West Columbia, South Carolina, where he is remembered by his community for his warm spirit and enduring resilience. John was known for his zest for life, always striving to make the most of each day. His endeavors and contributions to the community were admirable, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
John is survived by his children, Johnny Johnson and Lorna Testa NanthaKumar; his partner of 11 years, Kimberly Chapman and their dog, Lucy; his ex-wife, Loretta Testa Johnson; his brother, Steve Johnson; and his granddaughter, Josie Quinn NanthaKumar.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Megan Marie Johnson; and his parents, James and Mary Johnson.
John's hobbies included fishing, riding motorcycles, and relaxing and listening to music.
His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those he left behind. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all for their expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness during this difficult time. They also wish to express their gratitude for the compassionate assistance provided by Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium in Lexington, which is overseeing the services.
