John Henry Brady

Cayce - John Henry Brady was born August 17, 1925, and after a full life, started his heavenly walk on July 18, 2021.

John, in his late teens, came to Columbia to work in a bakery until he was old enough to enter military service with the U.S. Navy. During his time in the Navy he served in the Atlantic Theater, and as he stated "When we won that one," he was assigned to the Pacific Theater. Once home, he worked as a mechanic for local car dealerships. Later, he went on to further his knowledge under the GI bill. He opened his own garage, Brady's Auto in West Columbia, which he closed in 2008.

During his life he enjoyed gardening, fishing, his family, and his Lodge memberships. John was a life member of the Cayce Masonic Lodge #384, Cayce Eastern STAR #260 and the Jamil Shriners Temple, which he helped start years ago.

Survivors include a son, Gary, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Brady. 

John will be remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Visitation will follow at the funeral home.
