Jean Elizabeth Shealy, 75, of Batesburg passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. A lifelong resident of Batesburg, Jean was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Shealy. Growing up on the family farm Jean trained horses and was an accomplished barrel racer. She was educated in the Batesburg school system and played basketball as a youth. Upon graduation from high school, Jean continued her education to become a dental hygienist and worked for several dental practices. Deciding to do something different, Jean became a certified massage therapist and practiced until she retired. After retiring, she became an at home caregiver, helping others including her dad and twin brother, Jerry.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, and brothers, Joseph Jr. (Joe Joe), Walter and Jerry Shealy, and a niece, Tammy Jo Shealy Parker. She is survived by her son, Darren (Cathy Sox) Greer, grandchildren; Eastlynn Greer, Hunter Greer, and Sydney (Matthew) Sharpe, great-granddaughter; Sophie Sharpe, sister; Patricia Shealy, sister in law; Susan Shealy, and nieces; Paula (WC) Miller, Chrissie (Scott) McNabb, and Missy (Rod) Hallman.
Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family, and a private family burial will be held. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff on Spence Place at LMC Extended Care and hospice team for their care and support.
