Janice Moore Holden

Janice Moore Holden, age 70, passed peacefully February 19, 2026 in Lexington, South Carolina. Janice was born on October 22, 1955, in Conway, South Carolina, youngest daughter of the late Mendel and Louise Moore. Janice served her community as a school teacher for many years. She taught middle school language arts and found passion in watching her students grow in their love for reading and writing. Janice also found joy in music. She was a beautiful pianist and an active member of the choir at Mt. Horeb Global Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Keith Moore.
 

She is survived by her husband, Dowis Holden; two daughters, Jennie Stockwell and Katie Holden; son-in-law, Matt Stockwell; granddaughters, Sadie, Savannah and Scarlett Stockwell; sister, Gloria Griffin; and brother, Bethea Moore.
 

Janice’s life will be remembered most ardently by her relationship with Jesus Christ and her faith in the comfort that can only be found in her Lord and Savior. 
 

An intimate celebration of Janice’s life will follow at a later date. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
