Janet Mae Setropawiro, 63, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on February 17, 2026. She was born on March 15, 1962, in Greenwood, SC.
Janet was a devoted wife to her husband, Ronny Setropawiro, and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice Harley Howle and Ann Walker Howle; and her sister, Debra.
She is survived by her husband, Ronny Setropawiro; her stepchildren, Jozef Setropawiro and Shaunna Donnelly; her brothers, William “Buddy” Howle (Janice) and David Howle (Jane); and the children and grandchildren of her late sister, Debra Wrenn (Gregg), both deceased.
Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Phillip Howle (Rebecca) and their children, Cason, Luke, and Stephen; Holly Howle Powell (Ryan); Neil Wrenn (Allison) and their children, Adeline, Matthew, Eli, and Jonah; Anna Andrews (Michael) and their son, Levi; Abby Howle; and Ty Howle (Karen) and their children, Walker and Blake. Janet is further survived by her five cherished grandchildren, Jeremy Donnelly, Adela Donnelly, Jackson Setropawiro, Benjamin Setropawiro, and Silas Setropawiro.
Janet graduated from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1984 and went on to earn her master’s degree in 1988. She dedicated her life to education and to caring for those around her.
A passionate sports fan, Janet especially loved cheering for the University of South Carolina football and basketball teams. She adored her many fur babies and took great joy in their companionship. Janet was deeply rooted in her community, known for her warmth, kindness, and ability to connect with everyone she met — she truly never met a stranger.
Her legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to family and community will live on in all who knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Lexington Baptist Church Fellowship Hall 308 E. Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.
