James William "Bo" Whitten

Mr. James William “Bo” Whitten, 72, of Leesville passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1953 in Saluda County, South Carolina to the late Earnest and Fanny Harvey Whitten. Mr. Whitten was affectionately known as “Bo” and he was a grounds keeper.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Duncan Whitten; sons, Scott Pryor (April), and Jamie Whitten, II, daughters, Hope Busher (Josh), and Dorothy Branham (Tony); brothers, Earl Harvey, Wayne Whitten, and Ernest Whitten, sisters, Sally Kinard, Pearl Crosson, Ernestine McKinney, and Lucille Whiteen; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

“Bo” is predeceased by brothers, Bobby Harvey, and Wallace Whitten; and a sister, Louise Whitten.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic Batesburg-Leesville Chapel is assisting the Whitten family with arrangements.
