James Scott Weaver, 83 of Lexington SC died Thursday, July 15, 2021 surrounded by his family, after complications from surgery.
Jim was born in Prescott, Arkansas on September 11, 1937. He grew up working on his family farm. After graduating high school, he had a one-way bus ticket to Fayetteville, Arkansas to attend the University of Arkansas. Jim graduated in 1959 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Jim then began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration for 33 years. His job took him to many cities and states; one being in Dothan, Alabama where he met his bride of 61 years, Clara.
Jim loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, loved all sports, especially when it was his beloved “piggies”. He also loved to garden.
Jim is survived by his wife, Clara; son, Jeff (Dana) Weaver; daughter, Teresa Davis (Chris); grandchildren, Josh and Devin Weaver, Brad, Courtney, Scott, Chandler and Andrew Davis; and great grandson, Andrew Davis. He is predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Nora Weaver; brothers, Jack and Charlie.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery, 2763 S Springhill Rd, Gordon, AL 36343. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (Chapter of your choice).
