James Milton Roof

Lexington-James Milton Roof, 88, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Funeral service for Milton will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Pisgah Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Limited seating will be available; the service will be streamed on www.LutheranLive.com. Per CDC guidelines, social distancing, and masks are required in the church and at the cemetery. A public viewing will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, February 26, 2021 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Pisgah Lutheran Church, 1350 Pisgah Church Road, Lexington, SC, 29072.

Milton was born October 3, 1932 to Luther Bearden Sr. and Alice Alberta Roof.  He was a life-long member of Pisgah Lutheran Church and a member of the Golden Hearts. Milton retired from Adluh Flour of Columbia after 35 years. He loved life and helping others. He was active with Mission Lexington (formerly LICS), Meals on Wheels and square dancing with his wife and dear friends.

Milton is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Doris; son, James Dean (Rhonda); daughter, Carolyn; granddaughter, Amanda (David and son Kyler); grandson, Josh (Alice); twin brother, Rev. Hilton, of Aiken; sister-in-law, Lois; and numerous other family members. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, George, Luther B. Jr., and Mayhugh.
