It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jimmy Shealy, Jr. on January 21, 2026 at the age of 67. A memorial service will be held on March 28, 2026 at Covenant Community Church at 2:00pm, 1302 Old Orangeburg Rd., Lexington, S.C.
Jimmy had a lifelong career in the freight line business and retired after 30 years at Old Dominion Freight Line. He was an avid deer hunter, taking every opportunity he could to have a day in the woods where he killed many deer over the years. He was so proud of all the "big bucks" he got and told all the stories that went along with the hunt. Jimmy was a huge Clemson fan and looked forward to and enjoyed watching the games with his Uncle Wayne, who he always called "Turk".
A special heartfelt thank you to his Uncle Wayne Shealy. Jimmy was always so proud to tell others that he considered Uncle Wayne his brother. Not only was he there for Jimmy all his life, but through these last years they exchanged phone calls daily, most days talking several times. They had breakfast together every weekend and always had a joke to share, which they both enjoyed.
A huge thank you to Kerry Price for taking the time to take Jimmy deer hunting during these last years, even this deer season. These days meant so much to Jimmy.
Thank you to all his doctors and nurses, and to Davida Dialysis Clinic and Caring Hearts Ambulance Service.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Deborah Dispenza Shealy and her family; grandson, James Lee Proctor; Son in Law, Michael Proctor and his loving sister, Debbie (Clayton) Spires. Not only was she a wonderful sister who loved and looked out for all her brothers, but she also went above and beyond being his caregiver through these last years of his life, taking on many responsibilities. Jimmy always knew he could count on his Big Sis to take care of him. They also shared much time together just doing the little things in life. A big thank you to Clayton for taking care of any repairs around the house and everything he needed in the maintenance dept. among many other things. As a family, we are truly thankful for everything you two have done. He was so blessed to have both of you.
Jimmy is also survived by two nephews, Jason and Brandon Spires; niece, Amanda Riser; aunts and uncles, six great-nephews, one great niece; one great-great niece; many cousins whom he loved so much, including one special cousin, Lynn (Rick) Hutto, that he loved like a sister; stepbrothers, Wayne and Justin Spires; and stepsisters, Elizabeth Wiley and Pam Brown.
Jimmy was predeceased by his wife, Michelle Floyd Shealy; daughters, Amber (Michale) Proctor and Brittany Shealy; mother, Mary Faye Spires; father, James H. (Doc) Shealy, Sr.; stepfather, Clarence Spires; brothers, Lynard, Kevin (Babe) and Dwight Shealy; nephew, Rusty Shealy; and great niece, Morgan Spires.
Thank you to all who knew and loved Jimmy Shealy.
