James “Jimmy” H. Eargle passed away July 16, 2026. Born on June 30, 1951 as the only son of the late Joe Ballentine and Helen Goff Eargle.
He worked at Southeastern Freight Lines for 38 years as a Trailer Shop Supervisor.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Elaine Jumper Eargle, sons; Jeffrey (Sherry) Eargle, Joe (Angelia) Eargle; his four grandchildren that he loved dearly, Jonathan Eargle, Wade (Natalie) Eargle, Alyssa Eargle, and Kaitlyn Eargle, his sisters, Joan Hipp, Wanda Quarles, Sandra Long, and Dale Brown. Jimmy loved his in-laws dearly. He also leaves behind his little buddy Tiny.
A memorial service will be held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, 246 St. Paul’s Church Rd. Gilbert, SC 29054, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with Jon Eargle and Rev. Glenn Day officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 246 St. Paul’s Church Rd. Gilbert, SC 29054 or the charity of one’s choice.
